Giftedness

Depth, intensity, and belonging.

Giftedness goes beyond IQ — it involves deep processing, intense emotions, and a drive to understand everything thoroughly. Many gifted adults feel out of place in a world that does not match their pace or intensity.

What is Giftedness?

Giftedness is a complex cognitive and emotional profile that goes far beyond a high IQ score — it involves deep processing, intense overexcitabilities, and a drive to understand everything at depth.

Asynchronous development — where intellectual ability significantly outpaces emotional or social development — creates unique challenges, as does the frequent experience of being chronically understimulated or feeling out of place among peers.

Twice-exceptionality (2e) — being gifted while also having ADHD, autism, dyslexia or another neurodevelopmental difference — is common and often leads to both profiles being missed or misunderstood.
