ADHD and ADD affect focus, energy regulation and impulse control. Life with ADHD means experiencing the world at full intensity — with powerful strengths and real challenges.
What is ADHD & ADD?
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention regulation, impulse control and executive functioning — not simply the ability to sit still or pay attention.
There are three presentations: inattentive (formerly called ADD), hyperactive-impulsive, and combined. Adults are frequently diagnosed late — especially women, whose symptoms are often subtler and more easily masked by learned coping strategies.
Executive dysfunction — difficulty with planning, task initiation and emotional regulation — and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) are among the most impactful but least understood aspects of ADHD.
